Justin Turns 4!

I still can't believe that Justin is 4 years old now! He's like an actual little boy - not a baby or toddler anymore *sniff* We almost weren't going to have a birthday party for him since we were trying to stay low key as long as possible. Of course, true to Wong form, a "small" gathering of family and close friends turned into a party for 30 people at our house! We'll think of it as a warm-up for Thanksgiving...

The theme was Disney Cars and Mommy had to make sure we had all the right elements since Justin was very particular about what we needed - balloons, cake, and decorations. Check. Check. Check. A great time was had by all...well except maybe Brandon. He was largely ignored on this day as Mommy kept passing him off so she could run and get things organized and keep the big kids from getting hurt as they roughhoused.

On Justin's actual birthday, Daddy bought him a special dinnertime treat of...coconuts! Don't ask. Justin's had it in his head for a while that he wanted to eat/drink a coconut, so we obliged. They weren't as good as the 30 cent coconuts in Thailand, but they did the trick ;)

Random Silliness

Is it me or do all parents like to imagine what their kids are thinking about? I always seem to have a running commentary in my head about what Brandon is thinking...
Uh, Uncle Ron, you don't mind if I kind of get closer to Alyssa, do you? She sure is pretty...

Brandon: GODZILLA!!!! HELP!!! (I can't help it, this one cracks me up. Justin was trying to tickle Brandon before bathtime)

I guess I should humor Mommy and Daddy as they try to take the obligatory bathtime picture. At least they preserved my modesty...
I'm really not amused.
Seriously, can't a baby take a bath in peace?

The Boys

In my previous post I mentioned that we let Brandon try some watermelon. Lately the kid is always staring at us and drooling whenever we eat. Too bad he still has a couple of months to go before we let him in on the good stuff. In the meantime, Mommy decided to let the poor kid try some real food ;)

In a unrelated activity other than I'm too lazy to make another post, Justin decided he wanted to "read" a book to Brandon. I'm pretty sure Brandon only wanted to eat the book, but he listened dutifully like a good little brother.

Justin has memorized this book, but the trippy thing is that he's starting to be able to sound out words. Well, he's trying at least. Amazing for a kid who didn't talk for the first two years! :)

4 months

I took Brandon in for his 4 month check-up today. Here are the much awaited stats:

Weight: 16 lb, 14 oz (83%)
Length: 26" (84%)
Head Circumference: 17" (73%)

And for those keeping score, here are Justin's 4 month stats:

Weight: 16 lb, 3.5 oz (85%)
Length: 26" (89 %)
Head Circumference: 17.25" (91%)

I'm not sure why the percentiles are so different considering the measurements are so close...has the average baby gotten bigger in the past 4 years? Interesting. Anyways, Brandon was all smiles and giggles for the doctor. He got four shots today - poor thing. But he braved through them and promptly fell asleep in the car.

Next week, Justin goes in for his 4 year check-up. The doctor says he's due for shots too-yikes!

Shh! Don't tell! We let Brandon try some watermelon. He wasn't too impressed :)

Brandon 16-17 weeks

Just some more pics of the littlest Wong. He's getting pretty good at holding his head up and he's getting close to rolling over. We also noticed that he's a lot more smiley and giggly than Justin was...perhaps something to do with being the second child and trying to get people's attention :)

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend, we had the chance to go to Lemos Farm for some pumpkin festivities. It was a beautiful day in Half Moon Bay, luckily! Justin had a great time riding the ponies and train and feeding the goats. Even Brandon seemed to be having a good time!

ARRR

You might remember the playhouse I built when I was nesting in my last few weeks of pregnancy. Well after attending his cousin Olivia's pirate themed birthday party, Justin was trying to convince us that he needed another BIGGER box to build a pirate ship out of (Thanks Auntie Bonnie!) Luckily we managed to convince him that his playhouse could also be a pirate ship. Justin insisted that both Daddy AND Justin had to get into the ship with him. Gotta love kids' imaginations!
