10 months

With the advent of springtime and warmer weather, I thought Brandon might want to show you the guns he's been working on all winter.

You can also see that we took him to the barber this past weekend. Jay and Justin were getting their hair cut, so I asked the lady if she would do Brandon's too. Brandon did pretty well. He of course started crying once all the cut hair started poking him, but luckily the lady was fast. *Sniff* Now he doesn't look like a baby anymore! On the plus side, his hair is sticking up again :)

I had to give him something to chew on so he would sit still for more than one second.
I thought it would be a good idea to shake a rattle over my head to get him to look at the camera. I didn't expect him to take a flying leap off the chair to try and grab it. Luckily no one was hurt in the process :)
He's cruising pretty well now. First steps might be coming soon (!)

9 month check-up

Brandon had his 9 month check-up at the doctor's today. You gotta love it when both the nurse and the doctor walk in and say, "Whoa. He's a big boy!" and "He looks like he's doing well with his eating!" Yup, we grow 'em big around here. Here are his stats:

Weight: 23 lb, 6 oz (91%)
Height: 29.5" (83%)
HC: 18.75" (97%)

Sheesh. No wonder I need to dig out his 12-month clothes. Otherwise he got a clean bill of health. Next up will be his one-year appointment where they do the blood draw (eek!)

It looks like Justin didn't have a 9-month appointment when he was a baby, but here's a pic of him from that time:

9 months

I think the days of Brandon sitting nicely for a photo are long gone. He turned 9 months on Sunday and I tried for two days to get a nice picture of him with his little sign. You can see the "results" below...

Brandon is definitely an active one. He's cruising now and likes to go up the stairs if we let him. I wonder if it's a younger brother thing, trying to keep up with Justin. At any rate, he's much more active than Justin was at this age. Yikes!

He still only has two teeth, but has decided he doesn't like babyfood anymore. He'd probably eat a steak if I let him. But for now it's tofu and avocado and banana while I try to figure out what he can actually eat right now. He definitely has an appetite like Justin. Sometimes I catch Brandon staring at Justin during dinnertime while Justin is eating a drumstick and Brandon has this expression on his face like, "One day that will be mine!"

I've also realized that, being a mommy to two (three?) boys, who needs a gym? I get enough exercise trying to keep up with these guys!

This is probably the best photo of the lot ;)

Happy New Year!

So Justin has been in a Mandarin immersion program at preschool since September. Granted it's only a couple of hours a day and we're still not convinced we're getting our money's worth, but heck - Justin already knows way more Mandarin than I do! Of course, actual Mandarin-speaking people can't understand him, but maybe that's in next year's program :)

I'm told that the song he's singing is about the Chinese Zodiac, but who knows? It could be about hamburgers for all I know...

8 months

Brandon turned 8 months last Sunday and like I mentioned before, it's getting harder and harder to get him to sit still! Luckily I think I got an okay picture out of it. We were even luckier to finally get a nice picture of both Justin and Brandon together.

Brandon is finally starting to get his teeth. His bottom two popped out this week! It's a good thing because the kid is really wanting to eat regular food. Baby food isn't quite cutting it for him so now I'm scrambling to figure out what he can eat with two half teeth.

He can also pull himself up now - yikes! I swear this is earlier than when Justin started pulling up, but all of a sudden we'll find Brandon standing at the train table or at the coffee table. He even figured out how to get up on one step of our staircase *gulp* Baby proofing is in order soon I believe!

The next milstone that's up is switching him out of his car seat. I need to weigh the little bugger soon...I have a feeling he's approaching the weight limit...

Feeding himself puffs - he quite enjoys them!

Bath Time at the Wongs

Bath time is a bit crazy with two kids who can't be in the same tub together yet (can't wait for that to happen!). It usually involves both boys running/crawling around naked for one reason or another. Brandon will be crawling away from me naked because he's free from the confinement of his clothes and I'm praying that he won't pee on the carpet (already happened once). Justin will be running around naked and announcing the fact while jumping around. We also introduced Justin to the shower on non-bath days which he find completely ticklish.

Craziness all around, but I can't resist the smell of a clean kid...

Not a particularly interesting photo unless you hear Justin in the background saying, "Hey Brandon! Don't eat my butt cream!" Hehe.

Justin won't stop giggling in the shower!
All clean!
Ole!
Love those rolls
While Mommy is trying to take a shower on the weekends, Brandon has to sit in his exersaucer in the bathroom
The camera was on some weird setting which is why it looks like Brandon's face is melding into the carpet. But I do love this cheesecake shot!

Boys Will Be Boys

Catching up on my blog again. Just some pics and a video of the boys being boys. When I was recording Justin on his tricycle and Jay and Brandon on the scooter, I was surprised that Brandon wasn't freaking out or anything. I imagine that it probably felt like he was ziplining...Imagine if you were strapped in mid-air zipping along and all you could see was concrete flashing by? Hehe.
